TRIAL CHAMBER I (“Chamber”) of the Special Court for Sierra Leone (“Special Court”) composed of Hon. Justice Pierre Boutet, Presiding Judge, Hon. Justice Bankole Thompson, and Hon. Justice Benjamin Mutanga Itoe;

HAVING CONSIDERED the urgent request from Penny Marshall, the International Correspondent for ITN News Television, for permission to film in the Public Gallery of Courtroom I during the open session of the trial proceedings;

NOTING that Ms. Penny Marshall will be accompanied by Nick Edwards, a cameraman;

PURSUANT TO Rule 81 (D) of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence of the Special Court;

ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:

  1. That Penny Marshall and Nick Edwards are authorised to film in the Public Gallery of Courtroom I during the open session of the trial proceedings of Prosecutor v. Issa Sesay, Morris Kallon and Augustine Gbao on Monday, the 21st of November, 2005;
  2. That, unless specifically authorised, they may not film any of the witnesses before the Court or be present in the Courtroom during closed sessions, and must comply with all orders of the Court regarding protective measures for witnesses.
  3. That the use of the images and any commentary related thereto, should not, in any circumstances, be used in any way that could compromise or impair the fairness of the proceedings.
  4. That a representative of the Press and Public Affairs Office of the Special Court shall accompany them at any time during their filming in the Public Gallery of Courtroom I.
