THE TRIAL CHAMBER (“Chamber”) of the Special Court for Sierra Leone (“Special Court”) composed of Hon. Judge Benjamin Mutanga Itoe, Presiding Judge, Hon. Judge Bankole Thompson and Hon. Judge Pierre Boutet.

HAVING CONSIDERED the requests from the Chief of Press and Public Affairs for the Special Court video producers to enter the Courtroom in order to film the Trial proceedings.

PURSUANT TO Rule 81 (A) of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence.

ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:

  1. That the representatives of the Press and Public Affairs Office of the Special Court are authorised to film in the Courtroom during Trial proceedings except when Court is sitting in closed session.
  2. That the said Press and Public Affairs Office must advise the Presiding Judge at least 2 days before access is required in the Courtroom.
  3. Unless specifically authorised, they may not, under any circumstances, film any of the witnesses before the Court and must comply with all orders of the Court regarding protective measures for witnesses and closed sessions.
  4. That the use of the images and any commentary related thereto, should not, in any circumstances, be used in any way that could compromise or impair the fairness of the proceedings.
