TRIAL CHAMBER I (“Trial Chamber I”) of the Special Court for Sierra Leone (“Special Court”) composed of Hon. Justice Pierre Boutet, Presiding Judge, Hon. Justice Bankole Thompson, and Hon. Justice Benjamin Mutanga Itoe;

MINDFUL of the Orders of this Trial Chamber concerning protective measures, including the “Decisions on the Prosecutor’s Motion for Immediate Protective Measures for Witnesses and Victims and for Non-Public Disclosure” for each individual accused in the RUF trial[1] and the “Decision on Prosecution Motion for Modification of Protective Measures for Witnesses filed on the 5th of July 2004”[2];

HAVING RECEIVED the “Urgent and Confidential Prosecution Motion to Request Protective Measures for Witnesses TF1-041 & TF1-369” on the 17th of February, 2006 (“Motion”), filed confidentially by the Office of the Prosecutor (“Prosecution”);

NOTING the “Prosecution Proposed Order of Appearance of Witnesses – Seventh Trial Session”, filed on the 10th February, 2006;

CONSIDERING that Article 17(4)(c) of the Statute of the Special Court provides that the Accused shall be entitled “to be tried without undue delay”;

CONSIDERING that the fair and expeditious consideration of the Motion requires the imposition of an expedited timetable for the filing of any remaining written submissions;[3]

PURSUANT TO Rule 7(C), 26bis, 54, 73 and of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence of the Special Court;

HEREBY ORDERS as follows:

  1. Any Response by the Defence to the Motion shall be filed no later than Wednesday, the 15th of February, 2006, at 04:00pm;
  2. Any Reply by the Prosecution to the Defence Responses shall be filed, in a consolidated form, no later than Friday, the 17th of February, 2006, at 04:00pm;
